George W. Foltz, 94, of Conway, went peacefully up into the hands of the Lord, Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at his residence.
Born February 22, 1923, in Evans City, a son of the late Walter and Verna T. (Caldwell) Foltz. George fought in World War II in the U.S. Army at the Battle of the Bulge and Normandy Beach. He also helped to liberate France. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 229 in Rochester, the Shriners, and the Oddfellows in Ambridge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; son, Elden Foltz; two brothers, Raymond and Walter Foltz; and two sisters, Lois and Helen Foltz.
Surviving are three children and their spouses, George and Judy Foltz Jr., Rhena and David Bucka Sr., and Rhoda and Chris Phillips; seven grandchildren, Tracie Fajtak, David Bucka Jr., Megan, Mistic, and Morgan Phillips, Paula Foltz and Elden Foltz Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Cassandra and Nicholas Bucka, Brianna and Brakkus Brown and Bryan O’Connor; two brothers, Paul and Clarence Foltz; sister, Elva McCames; and his fiancée, Sophie DiDiMaccio.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. in the GABAUER-MATTER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 1133 Church St., Ambridge, www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com. Pastor Cletus Fahrion will officiate.
