David M. Pasquale

David M. Pasquale, 82, beloved husband of Mary (Fortner) Pasquale, to whom he was married to for 61 years, passed away peacefully the evening of Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown, PA.

Born in New Brighton on August 17, 1936, Dave was the son of the late Patsy and Santa (Priori) Pasquale. A local businessman, Dave was President and co-founder of the former Col-Fin Specialty Steel in Fallston, PA. A 1954 graduate of New Brighton High School, Dave was first employed by Townsend Steel Company in Fallston, PA and soon later by Precision Kidd Steel Company in West Aliquippa, where he joined the sales and marketing department and quickly advanced to a managerial position. In 1976, Dave and three of his colleagues from Precision Kidd, started Col-Fin Specialty Steel Corporation in Glen Willard, PA. Several years later, Dave purchased the old Townsend building and moved the operations of Col-Fin to that site. Dave was passionate about maintaining jobs in the Beaver Valley and producing quality American-made steel. He oversaw the operations of Col-Fin Specialty Steel until his retirement in 2013. Dave was an avid high school football fan and also enjoyed horse racing. His love for his family was undeniable and Dave will always be remembered as a gracious and generous man. He loved a good glass of red wine, and large dinners out with family and friends were always memorable.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Mae Ann of Orefield, PA., and Mark and Heidi of Sellersville, PA; his grandchildren, Lauren, Daniel, Caitlin, David, Matthew, Madison, Abby, Justin and Joey; and his great-granddaughter Kyleigh.

He was predeceased by a sister, Loretta Mendicino; and four brothers, Frank, Anthony, Reynold, and William Pasquale.

Friends and family will be received on Friday from 4pm to 7pm at the Gabauer Funeral Home-1133 Penn Avenue, New Brighton. Family and friends are to meet at Holy Family Church in New Brighton on Saturday at 10am where a mass of Christian burial will be held. Father Tom Kredel will officiate.

Private inurnment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to the New Brighton Football Team (checks payable to the New Brighton Gridiron Club) PO Box 396 New Brighton PA 15066.

Mary, Michael, Mark and family. I will always remember my cousin's beautiful smile, his warm
hugs and his kindness to me and my family over the years. Davie and my father, David Pasquale, shared so many happy times together.

I fondly remember that he always had a smile and hug for me when I saw him no matter where it was. He was a really nice man.
