Clara Makowiecki, 83, of Pulaski Twp., died in her home on Friday, February 8, 2018 of natural causes.

Born July 27, 1935 in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Katherine (Tesla) Lezovich.  Clara was a member of St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church in Rochester, and made many trips to Kentucky with Father Sweeney to build homes for those in need.  A caregiver to her mother until her death at the age of 103, Clara was a loving wife, mother, and daughter.  She was a tremendous animal lover and a champion of underdogs everywhere.  Clara will be remembered for her kindness to both friends and animals, as well as her huge, warm heart. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus “Ted” Makowiecki in 2003.

She is survived by her three sons, Michael (Helen), Tad (Monica), and Mark Makowiecki and Dee Shepherd; her sister, Angie Carling; her grandchildren, Matthew (Chrissy) and Michelle Makowiecki; her great-grandchildren, Zaynah, Zachary and Abigail; and several nieces and nephews.

Per Clara’s request, there will be no public visitation. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10am at St. Cecelia’s- 632 Virginia Avenue, Rochester PA 15074.  Everyone is to meet at the church.

Interment will be private.

The family asks that contributions be made in Clara’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital- PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142

Tad,Monica and family..,So very shocked and sad to see my Clara passed on to Glory.. she was so wonderful to me,,she enjoyed my life in So.Africa so much. She always made the other person feel good. I'm glad she was my friend, and that I got to spend time with her these past few years. It was so fun. Her sons were a joy to her heart, and you were so good to her, I feel your loss..May God Bless all of you !

I was sad to hear of your mom passing.. Although its been years since I saw her last, the memories I have of her are Always being Happy & Smiling ..
she had a Beautiful Heart!
