Theresa “Terry” Keehan Carroll, 85, of Patterson Twp., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday July 1, 2019.

Born October 3, 1933 in Maribel, WI, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Reedy) Keehan.  Terry grew up on a dairy farm with eight siblings. After graduating from Denmark High School in 1951, she went to work as a secretary in the service department for Manitowoc Engineering, where she met her husband of 60 years, Leo J. “Lee” Carroll.  They were married August 22, 1959 in Denmark, WI. They then moved to Beaver Falls in 1960, where they have resided for the last 59 years.

Terry was a stay at home mom, but was also very involved in her church and community. She was a member of St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church in Chippewa, where she served on the Angel Fund Committee, and also volunteered at the former Divine Mercy Catholic Church until its closing.  She was the first female elected to the Borough of Patterson Heights Council, was Co-founder/Co-editor of “A View from the Heights”, was Past President of Children’s Aid and Family Services, a member of the Patterson Book Club, worked as a volunteer for the Heritage Valley Ladies’ Auxiliary, was a member of the Outlook Club, and volunteered for United Way.

Terry loved to travel, entertain friends, dine out, watch or listen to the Pirates and celebrate her Irish heritage. She adored her family, and loved spending time with them at Lake Tomahawk. She will be remembered for her kind smile, her wonderful laugh, her generosity and her interest in people and their stories.

In addition to her husband, Lee, she is survived by her children, Patrick (Jose Antonio Nigro) Carroll of Xi’an, China, Michael Carroll of Memphis, TN, and Maureen (Vincent) Lucci of Beaver Falls; her grandchildren, Joseph and Grace Lucci; her sister, Kathryn (Keehan) Rasmusssen of Denmark, WI; her sisters-in-law, Shirley and Marlene Keehan of WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph, Michael, Earl and Gerald Keehan; her sisters, Dolores Loberger and Joan Umentum; and a grandson, August Matthew Lucci.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital Unit 5G for their compassionate care of their wife/mother.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Monday from 4pm-8pm in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home- 117 Blackhawk Rd. Chippewa Twp., www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes. com.

A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 10am at St. Monica’s-116 Thorndale Dr. Beaver Falls.  Fr. Kim Schreck will officiate.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
