Josephine C. Gutowski, 96, of Beaver Falls, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Cambridge Village.
Born March 19, 1921, in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Hnat) Czyzewski.  Josephine was a member of the former Holy Trinity Church, where she played a very active role.  While there she was President of the Rosary Society, a member of the Ladies Guild, a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of their Golden Age Club.  Josephine was also a member of AARP, the Retiree Club of the Medical Center Beaver, and the Senior Citizens of Beaver County.  In 1998 she was received into the Novitiate of the Secular Franciscan Order.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Gutowski, and her brother, Sigmund Czyzewski.
She is survived by three sons and three daughters- in-law, Raymond H., M.Ed.Psych and Barbara Gutowski of Beaver Falls, James A. and Cynthia Gutowski of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, and Daniel J. and Regina Gutowski of Woodbridge, Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy A. Gutowski and James Krauza of Beaver Falls; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Renee, Nicolas (Ann) and Andrew Gutowski; one great-grandson, Caleb Gutowski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1117 Fifth Ave., Beaver Falls, www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com, where prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Monica’s, Chippewa.  Father Kim Schreck will officiate.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
A rosary service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Josephine’s name to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Rd., Aliquippa, PA 15001.
The family would like to give special thanks for the care given at Cambridge Village, especially Melissa, Shirley, Stacey, and Wylie. Also, a special thanks to Heartland Hospice, especially Richard Roos.
