The last chapter is written. The book is completed. James M. Rarick, 68, of Rochester Twp., passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018.
Born March 10, 1950, in New Brighton, he was the son of the late John and Sarah (Derflinger) Rarick. James obtained a bachelor’s degree from Clarion University, a master’s degree from LaRoche College, and a law degree from Duquesne University.
James was always willing to lend a helping hand and had a real talent for finding nicknames for the people in his life. He loved nature and was very active with the North Country Trail Association. He also loved baking cookies and enjoyed his position as an “honorary church lady” when helping with bake sales at Bethel Methodist.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Kathryn Rarick; two grandchildren, Caleb M. and Samson James Rarick; his brother, John Rarick; his sister, Janet Rarick; his loving companion, Linda Kendrick; and his good friend of 55 years, Don Snyder.
Friends will be received on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 3 p.m. in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton, gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The Rev. Don Snyder will officiate.
