William C. Cogley, 93, of Beaver Falls, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born December 12, 1925 in Dayton, PA, he was the son of the late William Levi and Bertha (Anthony) Cogley. He attended New Brighton Church of the Nazarene and was a former volunteer fire fighter for West Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department. William was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #261. Also, he was an avid Steelers and Pirate fan and loved to go camping. His grandchildren were his pride and joy; he enjoyed watching them play baseball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Lou (Dixon) Cogley; four brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Richard (Licia) Cogley, Dan Cogley, and William (Trena) Cogley Jr.; four daughters, Bonnie (Tyrone) Bryant, Kathie (Dutch) Wijnen-Riems, Kandie (Albert) Pifer, and Terri (Ed) Emes; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp., gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com, where a service will be held Wednesday at 11 am. Rev. William Shanor will officiate.
The Veterans Honor Guard will perform full military honors.
Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice, especially Angie; and the staff at Beaver Valley Nursing, especially Mike Brown, for the outstanding care they provided for William.
