John Paul Stefura, 68, of Beaver Falls, formerly of Koppel, died on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born October 16, 1948, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Pete and Thelma (Leavens) Stefura. John was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was an employee at the B&W steel mill until his retirement. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. John liked music, especially the Beatles, reading the Bible and watching Pittsburgh sports teams and movies.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Donna (Gawelski) Stefura; brother, Steve Stefura; father-in-law, Donald Gawelski; uncle, John Stefura; aunts, Mary Stefura and Sophie Stefura; step-brother, Tom Leavens.
He is survived by his son, Chris (Shara) Stefura; daughters, Stacy (Tony) Martella and Lisamarie (Brian) Dela Rosa; grandchildren, Carmen, Geno and Elena Martella and Parker and Maria Stefura; brother, Randy Stefura; mother-in-law, Virginia Gawelski; uncles, Mickey, Paul and Joe Stefura; Goddaughter, Jamie Franchi; step-sister, Carol Davis, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the GABAUER-MATTER FUNERAL HOME, 3500 Third Ave., Koppel, gabauer familyfuneralhomes.com, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Dr. Kenneth Manypenny, of the Mayfield Bible Baptist Church, 501 37th Street, Beaver Falls, will officiate. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
The Honor Guard will meet at the cemetery at noon on Saturday to conduct full military honors.
