Filamena “Fifi” Sarracino Ficca 90 of Chippewa Township, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at her residence.

She was born May 20, 1928 in Burgettstown and was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Louisa DeBellis Sarracino.  She was a faithful member of Christian Assembly Beaver Falls where she was the former accompanist and a member of the Dorcas Women’s Ministries and Prime Life Club.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Ficca whom she married on November 6, 1949.

She is survived by a son Alan Jay (Jodi) Ficca of  Stonewood, W. VA,  daughter Rebecca (Stephen) Salopek of Beaver Falls, PA  and daughter/ caregiver Rhonda Ficca of Beaver Falls,  a brother Alfredo  “Fred” (Eileen) Sarracino of Lake Placid, Florida,  grandchildren Jason J. Salopek of Beaver Falls,  Rachael E.  (Jeffrey) Cipolla, of Hopewell, Dante, Dominic, Alexa, and Daniel Ficca, Stonewood, W. VA; great grandchildren Lucas D’Alessandro, Bryce and Scarlett Cipolla, Hopewell,  sisters in laws, Yolanda Sarracino, Fontana, California, Carmina Sarracino  and Marguerite Sarracino of Burgettstown,  PA; a brother in law, Dr. John Ficca of Bloomington, Illinois and a devoted friend Jean A. Pervak of Beaver Falls.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Luigi, John, James and Dominic Sarracino.

Filamena had established herself through many years as an accomplished pianist.  In addition, she regularly played for the following organizations:  Full Gospel Business Men’s Association, Women’s Prayer Breakfast of Beaver County, National Association of Evangelicals, and the Jesus is the Answer Television Program with the Coleman Family.  She was frequently sought after for weddings, funerals and celebratory occasions.  She instilled in her children the love of music, giving all gory and honor to the Lord.  Together, with her husband Alfred, a lay minister, she served the county and surrounding areas including a mission’s trip to Italy spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ in both English and Italian.  Her family has been left with a godly heritage echoing the words of the song, “May All Who Come Behind Us Find Us Faithful.”

Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home 117 Blackhawk Road   Mrs. Ficca will lie in state Monday from 9 until time of service at 10 am in the Christian Assembly Church, 814 Lincoln Place,  Beaver Falls, PA 15010 (corner of 8th Avenue and 9th Street). Pastor Dale Russo will officiate.

Private Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery Burgettstown, PA.

I'm sorry that I could not make it to the viewing. I'm also a care giver for a friend in need in Akron Ohio. So that is where I am today. God Bless you all.
