Barbara Ann Flaherty Ford (Nanny) passed away February 3, 2019, at her home in Beaver Falls, following several lengthy illnesses.
She was born January 13, 1954, at Providence Hospital in Beaver Falls and was the daughter of the late Martin A. Flaherty and Anna Mae Schied Flaherty. She graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1971, and attended CCBC. An avid dog lover she was a member of the Beaver County Kennel Club for over 15 years. Her biggest loves in her life were her husband, sons, foster sons and grandchildren. Although ill for many years there were many good times. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and foster mother, who cherished her family. She loved to read, play and listen to music, and her hobby was genealogy, finding over 1800 relatives in her family tree.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 47 years, Jerry T. Ford; sons, Timothy and Matthew; grandchildren, Victoria Ford, Thomas Ford and Savina Ford; brothers, Michael Flaherty (Dana) and Brian Flaherty (Lois); sister, Beth Ann Henderson (James); nieces, Brooke Henderson, Kaylee Henderson, and Meghan Flaherty and nephews, Shaun Flaherty and Rian Flaherty. She loved her extended family dearly and include grandchildren, Isabella, Caterina, Isaac and Patrick (Tre) and Alyssa. Also surviving are a foster son, Doyle Brooks and his wife, Christina and their children, DJ Josh, and Lilly, and foster sons, David, Ralph, and Thomas. In addition, she is survived by a special cousin, Kitty Edge, several uncles, an aunt and many other cousins.
She was fortunate in life to be surrounded by very good friends and wonderful neighbors who supported her through her life. Their friendship gave her great joy. Barbara’s favorite quote was by Maya Angelou, “Do the best you can until you know better, then when you know better, do better.”
Friends will be received Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 6 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp., gabauerfamily

The family would like to thank Drs. Donald Hammer and Bruce Wilkoff of the Cleveland Clinic whom added many years to her life and Dr. Annmarie Ray for her devoted care over the years. In addition, a special thank you to all the staff of Liberty Dialysis in Chippewa for their special care and to Stephanie, Rick, Fay and Danene from Vitas Hospice for their loving care.
