Mary Emily Contino of North Sewickley Twp., born September 17, 1936 to Mary and John Jute, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2019.

Mary was proceeded in death by her husband Joseph Lawrence Contino. Mary was the loving mother of four children, Kimberly (Mark) Roknick, Monaca, Kelli Palmer, Huntingdon, PA, Kristan (Andrew) Hapach, Monaca, and Kevin (Heather) Contino, Ambridge. She was the grandmother of eight grandchildren, to whom she was known as Nanny, Shawnna, Jessica and Justin Roknick, Keri and Ryan Palmer, Carly and Alexa Hapach, and Joseph R. Contino. Mary is also survived by her sister Cecilia Totera of New Brighton, brothers, John Jute and Frank Jute, and brother-in-law Sam Contino of Chippewa.

Mary was a member of St. Monica’s Church, Chippewa Twp. Mary spent most of her adult life as a homemaker and caregiver to her children.  She also played a pivotal role in the upbringing of her many grandchildren of which she loved dearly and found great joy.  She was a member of the Adoration Chapel for over 30 years in which she made many lifelong friendships.  Mary was a pillar of her family and was extremely loved.  She will be missed greatly.

Mary will be remembered as a caring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton,, where prayers will be held on Friday at 9:20am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am at St. Monica’s-Chippewa.  Fr. Kim Schreck will officiate.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Dear Kim, Kelli, Kristan, and Kevin and all your family,
My deepest sympathies to all of you. The loss of your mother and grandmother is a heartbreak no one can feel as deeply as you. Take good care of yourselves. I'm so sorry not to be with you this day.
