Nancy S. “Granny” Rhodes, 79, a lifelong resident of Darlington Twp. passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, September 11, 2016.
Born March 19, 1937 in Darlington, she was the daughter of the late Robert “Bob” and Margaret “Peg” Sanders. Nancy graduated from Darlington High School. She worked hard all of her life to provide for her number one priority, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Over the years she worked at Reeves Bank, Don Martin Trucking, Kmart and finally Queen of One Stop Shopper. She loved being a clerk, working with her friends and getting the daily town gossip.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Scott Rhodes who was a wonderful and loving husband and father who adopted her children; and two daughters, Jeri and Keri.
Nancy’s pride and joy was always taking care, loving, and putting her children first no matter what. She will be greatly missed by her loving children, James P. “Jimmy Rhodes and Teri J. “Tuffy” and her husband Clinton “Skip” Hall Jr., all of Darlington; her grandchildren, Courtney A. Lopez and her husband Michael, who she loved more than life itself, and her other pride and joy, Landon S. Hall, who she loved to watch play football and his girlfriend, Natalie Gratteri,; her two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brielyn Lopez, who she spoiled and loved beyond words; and numerous friends who have touched her life in the same way that she touched theirs.
Friends will be received Friday from 12-4pm and 6-9pm and Saturday from 9:30am until the time of service at 10:30am in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 117 Blackhawk Road-Chippewa www.gabauerluttonfuneralhome.com.
Interment will follow in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Heritage Hospice for all of the love, care, and support they provided to Nancy as well as their entire family.
