Alfred “Benny” Carter III, 49, of Beaver Falls, died Saturday, July 30, 2016, at his residence.
Born March 9, 1967, in New Brighton, he was the son of Alfred (Ben) Jr. and Carol Washel Carter. He was a member of the Beaver Falls Christian Assembly. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1986. He was a member of the 1984 WPIAL championship football team. He attended Scottsdale Community College, Arizona, and Community College of Beaver County.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters who were his whole world and he loved every minute he spent with them, Abigail Bella and Gwyneth Belle Carter, both of Beaver Falls and their mother, Rachel Marchionda; a sister, Kelly Blythe (Mike Lavery), Beaver Falls; two nieces, Ashton (Joe) Contenta, New Brighton and Jordon (Matt) Sweeney, Beaver; aunts and uncles, Tom (Caren) Carter, BF; Dolly DeDoncker, FL; Mary Sue Binkowski, PA; Bob (Teri) Washel, NC; Nick (Roberta) Washel, OH; and Marcia Robinson, AZ; also cousins and friends.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1117 Fifth Ave., Beaver Falls, www.gabauerluttonfuneralhome.com. Benny will lie in state Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the Beaver Falls Christian Assembly Church, 8th Ave and 9th St. The Honorable Rick Mancini will officiate.
Private Interment will follow.
Benny will best be remembered for his God-given talents and sports ability. He was known as a triple threat because he went from the field to the court to the diamond and never skipped a beat.
Although Benny struggled with addiction through the years, we can take comfort in knowing he will no longer have to suffer with the grips of that addiction, and we know he is at peace with the Lord.
