David William Cowie Sr., 76 of Rochester, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at his residence.

Born July 27, 1942 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Gerald Robert and Margaret (Shoaf) Cowie.

He served as a member of the U. S. Army and was a retired Journeyman Wireman for Local Union #712 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. In his retirement, David enjoyed wood working, fishing, listening to his music, and spending time with beloved family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kay (Mateer) Cowie; four daughters, Dayne (Isom) Null, Barb McClain, Amy Cowie (Elmer Wiles), Melisa (Raymond) Hall; four sons,  David (Nicole) Cowie Jr., Fred (Jacquelyn) Cowie, Matthew (Lea) Cowie, Christopher Cowie; fourteen grandchildren,  Drew (Kylie) Null, Joel Null, Philip Null, Isaac Cowie, Abby Cowie, Jacob Cowie, Anna Cowie, Madelyn Cowie, Gabriel Cowie, Nicholas Cowie, Jaira Cowie, William Cowie, Kaycie Hall and Ayden Hall.  David is also survived by a brother, Raymond (Kathy) Cowie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, two brothers, Thomas Cowie, Robert Cowie and two sisters, Martha (Cowie) Nye and Mary (Cowie) Watson.

Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6 until the time of service at 8pm in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton, gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com. Rev. Lee Bittner will officiate.

Interment will be private.
