John P. Malay, 88, of Conway, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born January 28, 1930 in Leetsdale, the son of the late John and Frances (Stricko) Malay, John graduated from Ambridge High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, as well as the Air Force and Marine Reserves later in life. John worked as a draftsman at American Bridge for many years. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the BPOE, Ambridge Lodge. He was an avid train enthusiast and enjoyed train travel and model trains. He was Catholic by faith.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Nancy (Heitzenrater) Malay; daughter, Amy (Peter) Ulrich and three grandchildren, Taylor, Henry, and Daniel Ulrich, all of Leonardtown, MD; and a sister, Oragene Malay, Osborne, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Becky and Dianne Malay.
As per the family’s request all services were private.

Interment will be private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies where full military honors will be conducted.
