Richard John “Shot” Pavlinch, 87, of Patterson Twp., died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in his residence.
Born November 26, 1931 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late George and Louise (Lucini) Pavlinch. He was a member of St. Monica’s Parish in Chippewa Twp., and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Bookhouse Gang. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved watching his grandchildren in all of their sporting events.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia Ann Pavlinch; his children, Christine (John) Jewell, Carolyn “Sis” (Michael) Engle, Cindy (George) Elmer, Marianne (Rob) Cook, Richard (Janet) Pavlinch, and AnnMarie “Chookie” (Geoff) Karlen; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Donald (Dollie) Pavlinch; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Frank, Robert and John “Butch” Pavlinch; and his sister, Mary Shuman.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4pm and 6—9pm in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home 117 Blackhawk Rd. Chippewa Twp., where prayers will be held on Saturday at 9:20 followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am at St. Monica’s-Chippewa. Father Kim Schreck will officiate.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Members of the BC Honor Guard are to meet at the cemetery at 10:30am to provide full military honors.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Sharon, Pat, Kathy, Marilyn, Amy, Holly and Cyndy for all of the loving and compassionate care they gave to Shot.
