John R. “POPS” Pavkovich, 74, of Beaver Falls died Friday, March 29, 2019 at Beaver Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 11, 1945 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late John and Steffie Wernikowski Pavkovich. He was a 1963 graduate of Beaver Falls High School where he was a star lineman and played on the 1960 WPIAL AA championship team under coach Larry Bruno. He was named to the state AP squad and MAC team. John served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served at Fort Jackson, Fort Dix, and Fort Lewis before he was sent overseas. John was honored to receive a state flag that was presented to him by the former State Senator Kline.
He is survived by 2 sons, Jeffery (Monica) and Scott (Julie) Pavkovich; a granddaughter, Rebecca; 2 godchildren, Erin Sabol and Mary Wilson; 2 cousins, Nick Pavkovich and Kitty Cramer and a good friend Bobby Middleman who have been there for him the past few weeks along with his very dear lifelong friend, Carol A. Rebich; also, many cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday April 4, 2019 at 10:00 am at St Monica Catholic Church- 116 Thorndale Dr. Beaver Falls, PA 15010. Fr. Kim Schreck will officiate.
Interment will follow St Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Angel Fund 609 10th Street Beaver Falls, Pa 15010.
Members of the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 862 will meet at the cemetery at 10:45am to provide full military honors.
