Clifford W. Peterson 98, of Brighton Twp. died Sunday October 27, 2019 at Beaver Meadows-St. Barnabas.

Cliff lived a life of service to his family, his community, and his country. He earned respect from those who worked with him. He gave willingly to those who needed him. He will be sorely missed by those who loved him.

He was born January 29, 1921 in Bertrand, Nebraska, son of the late David R. and Amanda M. Peterson. His family moved to upstate New York in 1930, where he finished school.  Cliff retired from the United States Navy in 1960 after serving 20 years. Then he worked for 20 years at US Airways before retiring in 1980. Member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Brighton Twp. since 1972.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years Gloria S. Peterson; two sons Jay R. Peterson and Stephen R. (Lynette) Peterson; two daughters Susan K. Peterson and Valerie J. Hartley; a brother David Royce ( Janet) Peterson; a sister Beulah “Billie” (William) Stevens; a brother in law Matthew Blaine; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Stanley Peterson; and three sisters June Millward, Frances Moshier, and Beverly Blaine.

Friends will be received Tuesday October 29th from 10:00 a.m. till time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Gabauer Funeral Home 1133 Penn Ave New Brighton, Pa 15066  Pastor Gregory Clagg will officiate. The Beaver County Honor Guard will meet at the funeral home at 10:50 am to perform full military honors.

Private entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.

The family requests memorial contributions be made if desired to the Hope Lutheran Church 45 Maple Drive Beaver, PA 15009.
