Gary Lee Hutchinson

Gary Lee Hutchinson

BIRTH: 08/20/1943

DEATH: 09/21/2019

Gary Lee Hutchinson Sr., 76, of Chippewa Twp., went to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 21, 2019 in Good Samaritan Hospice.                                                                                                                                                    Born August 20, 1943 in Rochester, he was the son of the late Elmer and Amelia (Baltic) Hutchinson. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Gary began his career working at the Zinc Corporation in Monaca, then went on to work at the East Works of B&W, where he was a foreman at both companies.  He then went on to work for US Airways/American where he was a supervisor. He was a member of the Beaver County Genealogy and History Center and the US Airways Retirement Club.

Gary’s interests were as numerous as the grains of sand on a beach, which was one of the things he loved.  He was a world traveler.  He also loved the outdoors- when he wasn’t walking, fishing, gardening, or doing yardwork, you could find him sitting out in the sun in his back yard. He was an avid golfer, and belonged to various golf leagues throughout the years.  Bowling was another of his interests, and he was a past member of the Beaver County Bowling League. He was a great cook, and a few of his specialties were apple pie, homemade pasta, and his frittata.  He enjoyed woodworking, and watching all of the Pittsburgh sports teams.  Gary loved his dog, Sadie.  The thing that Gary loved most in this world was his family.  He enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could, and was especially proud of his grandsons.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol (Passero) Hutchinson; his sons, Gary Lee Jr. (Wendy) Hutchinson of Enon Valley and Kevin Hutchinson of Chippewa Twp.; his grandsons, Matthew Michael and Ryan Thomas Hutchinson; his brothers, Michael (Kathy) Hutchinson of Austin, TX and David (Jill) Hutchinson of Brighton Twp.; his sister, Julie (Kevin) Klein of Chippewa; and his nieces and nephews, Courtney, Drew, David, Aubrey, Alayna, Michael and Brian.

As per the family’s request, there will be no public visitation.  Family and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church- 116 Thorndale Dr. Beaver Falls.  Father Bill Schwartz will officiate.

Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The members of the Beaver County Honor Guard will meet at the cemetery at 11am to perform full military honors.

The family would like to give special thanks to Fr. Bill Schwartz for faithful love and support that he gave to Gary, and to the Staff of Good Samaritan Hospice and Dr. Wusylko for all of their extraordinary care.

Arrangements are being handled by Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home- 117 Blackhawk Rd. Chippewa Twp.,  www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com.

Gary was my Supervisor at US Airways, We had a great relationship as he did with all of his crew. The one thing that stands out when my granddaughter was hit by a car. He was soo kind , he gave her a small teddy bear and flowers. When I had a surgery and was off for several weeks he would call and ask how I was doing. Gary was more then my supervisor- he was a friend and will think of him often. Gary did soo many small thoughtfull things quietly for people that most people never knew.
