Charles H. Droz Jr., 94, of Economy Boro, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 29, 1925 in Sewickley, he was the son of the late Charles H. Sr. and Margaret (McVay) Droz. A 1943 graduate of Ambridge High School, Charles served in the United States Navy Amphibious Forces during WWII, first in Europe and then in the South Pacific. He retired from Armco in 1985.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Ann (Hilliard) Droz.
He is survived by his two daughters, Suzie (Thomas) Stewart of Economy Boro and Cindy (Christopher) Gregory of North Huntingdon; his granddaughters, Marissa Rayes, Jordenne Gregory, Madison Gregory and Taylor Gregory; and his best friend, his dog Iggy.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Gabauer-Matter Funeral Home 1133 Church St. Ambridge. The Beaver County Honor Guard will meet at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30pm to perform full military honors at 8pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10am at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church- 2147 Ridge Rd. Ext., Ambridge. Pastor Tom Moog will officiate.
Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.
