Dorothy Jane Rohm, 92, of Big Beaver Boro, died Saturday, March 30, 2019 in Providence Care Center.

Born May 29, 1926 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late James and Pearl (Young) Sumpter.  She attended Valley Baptist Church in Beaver Falls.  Dorothy began working as a cook at Providence Hospital, went on to work as a rivet worker during WWII at Hydril, worked the counter at Isaly’s in New Brighton, and also raised her six loving children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Rohm (2014); a son, Rodney E. Rohm; two brothers, James Sumpter and Bob Gailey; a sister, Mary Fletcher; and two stepbrothers, Norman Sumpter and William Sumpter.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Mary Ann) Rohm of TN, Joyce (Bob) Clair of GA, JoAnn (Ralph) Lonbeck of OR, Gloria (Darrell) Knopp of South Park, and Patricia (Gary) Sallade of Beaver Falls; a sister, Jean Dapprich of Industry; 2 stepsisters, Geraldine Jaggars and Shirley Schmitz of CA; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and Saturday from 10am until the time of services at 11am in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home 117 Blackhawk Rd. Chippewa-  Her son-in-law, Rev. Dr. Darrell Knopp will officiate with Rev. C.F. Hoffman and Rev. Jeff Sievers assisting.

Interment will follow in Little Beaver Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dorothy’s name to Valley Baptist Church, 1405-8th Avenue Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
