Obituary

Alma S. “Sis” Weber, 92, of Bridgeville, died Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Bridgeville Rehab Center.She was born May 24, 1924 on Troy Hill to the late Herman and Antionette (Huckestein) Melcher. Sis lived in Bellevue and worked at the Equitable Gas Company. She supported our nation’s armed forces, first as a volunteer in the USO and then as an active member of the Bellvue VFW. In Chippewa she was a member of St. Monica Parish and VSP, a bowler at the White Township Inn, and Poker Club.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles A. Weber III in 1994; a brother Ralph Melcher; and two sisters, Mary Potvin, and Helen Planitzer.Surviving is her sister, Ruth Kurcina. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.Friends will be received Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8 p.m. at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp., www.gabauerluttonfuneralhome.com, where prayers will be offered Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Monica Parish, 116 Thorndale Drive, Chippewa, Father John Naugle will officiate.A rosary will be held on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery.y!
