Obituary

Anna Omogrosso, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 surrounded by her children and grandchildren who loved her dearly. A lifelong resident of Beaver Falls, Anna, born on January 19, 1929, was the daughter of the late Guy and Vincenza Ross. She was a 1947 graduate of Beaver Falls High School and a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church (formerly St. Mary’s) in Beaver Falls. She was a life time member of American Legion Lady Auxiliary, and enjoyed going to the Circle of Friends. Anna also enjoyed dancing. Cherished as the family matriarch, she loved spending time with her whole family and attending all her grandchildren’s activities. Graduating from the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy, Anna was the owner and operator of Anna Omogrosso’s Beauty Salon. She later worked at Westinghouse Electric in Vanport and retired from Zale’s Jewelry Store in Monaca, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tony Omogrosso, July 1964, a grandson, Joshua Anthony McClain, three sisters, Wilma Strati, Connie Gazda, and Yolanda Lopez, and a brother, Victor Ross. Surviving are her four children, Theresa (Eddie Onuska) Omogrosso, Beaver Falls, Nettie (Hal) McClain, South Beaver, Tony (Beth) Omogrosso, Chippewa, and Mary (Spiro) Pappan, Chippewa. Anna leaves behind her twelve beloved grandchildren, Christina (Dannon) Woodward, Sean (girlfriend Natalya Tyala) McClain and Sara McClain, Anthony, Aaron, and Chassidy Omogrosso, Louis (Alexa), Patricia (fianc??e Corey Hasting), Amara, Mitchol (girlfriend Meaghan White), Nina, and Elaina Pappan, and two great-grandchildren, Talan Woodward and Maddox McClain. She is also survived by one sister, Nancy (Joe) Pasco, a brother Domenic Ross, numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends.Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES 1117 5th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA where prayers will be offered Saturday at 9:20 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Monica Parish, 116 Thorndale Drive, Chippewa, Pa. Fr. Kim Schreck will officiate. Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery.A rosary will be held on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.The family would like to thank Dr. Prendergast, Dr. Tarabay and her staff, and the nurses at Good Samaritan Hospice for the wonderful care they gave their mom.
