Obituary

Annamaria (Lucci) Groves, 82, of Beaver, formerly of Monaca, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 9, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family.

Born October 6, 1937 in Aliquippa, she was the daughter of the late Augustine and Rosa (Rubino) Lucci.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Vincent Lucci.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John “Jack” N. Groves; son, John “Jack” (Lynnette) Groves; daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” (James “Jim”) Dankowski, Linda (Michael) Fimbers and Kristine “Kristy” Morgan; also fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Anna met and married her loving husband at a young 18 years of age and enjoyed 63 years of marriage. She loved her 4 children and many grandchildren. She was so devoted to them; family was everything to her.

Anna was a born artist and began painting at an early age. She had a talent for using oils and watercolors, especially when it came to her love of flowers. She was an avid reader, no one could understand how she read so many books.

Anna enjoyed traveling the world. After moving with her family from Patterson Township to England in 1973 when her husband was transferred by his company, she visited places such as Egypt, Europe, and Russia.

She and her husband later moved to St. Louis where they lived for 7 years. After St. Louis they resided in Sewickley for 25 years.  She was involved and raised funds for the Children’s Health Organization, Beaver County YMCA, Make-A-Wish and Mount Gallitzin Academy.

Anna enjoyed having family and friends over for all the holidays and celebrations where ever they lived. She made it special with her cooking, baking and decorating making sure there was plenty for everyone.

Anna never lost her travel bug and continued to travel with family and friends. She enjoyed taking trips with her art lady friends for lessons and lectures. She was always ready to go on that next adventure.

Many people from the area remember Anna from The Bridge Street Shop located in Bridgewater, PA. A store in which she co-owned with her daughter Cynthia “Cindy” Dankowski.

They had a lovely shop and decorating business for over 15 years and were recognized as valuable members of the community. She enjoyed her customers and many became longtime friends.

ƒ??Jack and Anna made full circle in recent years settling down in Beaver, PA. Anna enjoyed visiting with everyone in the community and going to the local coffee shop and eateries.

Anna will be remembered for having a big heart and a compassion for others. She was the type of person that could make friends with anyone and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She loved to discuss books, history, faith and everything in between. She was a blessing to all those who had the opportunity to know her and she will be greatly missed.

Private entombment will be in Beaver Cemetery.

A memorial mass will be scheduled at a later date.

Services were private and entrusted to GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp.
