Obituary

Benjamin B. Frederick, 89, of Vanport Township, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Heritage Valley Health System – Beaver Campus.

Born on October 17, 1936, in Indiana, PA, he was the son of the late Alfred and Louise (Wadding) Frederick.

Ben left his schooling in the 8^th grade and obtained permission to enlist in the military, where he proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  Following his discharge, he worked for Westinghouse/Cutler Hammer for many years.  He was also very proud of his work as a police officer for Vanport Township.  Ben was a devoted member of the Vanport Volunteer Fire Department, St. James Lodge #457, New Castle Consistory, Rochester Turners Club, Monaca American Legion, and served as president of the Beaver Valley Police Pistol League.

In his free time, Ben enjoyed time spent at his camp with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Annabell (Collesar) Frederick; and his brothers, Keith and Edward Frederick.

He is survived by his children, Allen (Kim) Frederick and Kimberly Frederick-McStay; grandchildren, Thomas (Kara) Frederick, Heather (Josh) Coulter, Edward (Courtney) Frederick, Aaron (Julie) Frederick, Lauren (Stephen) McStay, Paige McStay, and Evan (Alexa) McStay; great-grandchildren, Madi, Austin, Scarlett, Ellianna, Amelia, Allie, Sadie, Katrina, Blake, Ella, and Mila; a great-great-granddaughter, Rory; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Friends will be received on Friday, December 26^th from 1-3PM & 5-7PM in the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES (Branch), 340 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009.

Ben’s wishes for cremation will be honored following visitation and inurnment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to Vanport Volunteer Fire Department in Ben’s honor.
