Bernice Kate (Lalli) Holcombe, 91, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Rochester Manor and Villa.

Born on August 23, 1935, in Calumet, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Axel and Lila (Kinnunen) Lalli.

Bernice devoted many years of her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Phoenix General Hospital. Her compassionate nature and desire to help those around her were evident throughout both her career and her life.

After moving to Pennsylvania, Bernice found a church home at Pathway Church, where her faith became an important part of her life. She was a devoted member of the church, faithfully participating in the Prime Timers and happily attending Women’s Ministry Bible Study. Bernice treasured the fellowship and friendships she found through her church community.

In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Rev. James Rath; her second husband, John Holcombe; her sister, Alice Gang; and her brother, Allan Lalli.

Bernice is survived by her loving children, Lisa (David) Bachman, Michael (Julie) Rath, Andrew (Peggy) Rath, and Brian (Kim) Rath; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her brothers, Lester (Cecilia) Lalli and Jacob Lalli; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In accordance with Bernice’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held later.
