Beaver

Bertha A. Yount, 84, of Beaver passed away Friday February 17 with her daughter and son at her bedside. She was born March 3, 1932 in Butler and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Concetta Valente Varrasso. Bertha was formerly of Brady’s Bend and was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Beaver. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William ‘Bill’ R. Yount on May 15, 2004 and 7 siblings, Jim Varrasso, James Varrasso, Rosemarie Irrapino, Ernest Varrasso, Philomena Malizia, Anne Stock and Salvatore Varrasso.

She is survived by her children Peggy (Mark) Werth, Allison Park and Steve (Darlene) Yount, Darlington, grandchildren, Rachel (Ben) Foltz, Bethel Park and Stephanie Yount, Rochester, sister, Mary Toscano, Sun City, FL, sister-in-law, Roberta ‘Cissie’ Varrasso and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday February 25 at 10 AM in SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Beaver followed by a remembrance gathering and visitation with the family from 11 until Noon in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver. Interment will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Brady’s Bend.

The family suggests contributions may be made in Bertha’s memory to the Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association, 3582 Brodhead Road, Suite 201, Monaca, PA 15061

  1. We are so sorry to hear about Bertha. She is deeply missed by her Marian Guild friends.She was such a wonderful lady! May God give you all the peace that surpasses understanding to ease your pain during this time of sadness. May she rest in peace!
