Obituary

Betty Ewing Logan passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford. She was the last surviving member of her family.Betty was born in Ambridge on July 16, 1920, and eventually moved to Baden with her husband, James H. Logan, who preceded her in death on October 10, 2003. She was a member of the Baden United Methodist Church. Betty worked at American Bridge and for Gimbels of Pittsburgh, but her first love was her family and friends.She is survived by her children, Dr. James R. Logan and wife Cheryl of Baden, and her daughter, Linda S. Croyle and husband Joe of Ebensburg, PA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Erin Cordes and husband Jay, Shannon Oster and husband Ryan, and Jimmy Logan and his girlfriend Jamie Katekovich, all of Baden. Betty was very happy to have five great-grandchildren, Malaya, Mannix, Hamilton, Danilo (Oster) and Meadow (Cordes). In addition, she is survived by two step-granddaughters, Cara Cole and husband Nate of Bel Air, MD, and Amie Signorella and husband Troy of Pittsburgh, and two step-great-grandchildren, Austin and Jaxson Cole.Betty was loved by everyone who came in contact with her and she never forgot them.Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in GABAUER-MATTER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Church St., Ambridge, www.gabauermatterfuneralhome.com. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by private interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Aliquippa.The family requests that contributions be made in Betty’s name to Passavant Homes, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063 or the Baden United Methodist Church, 420 Dippold Avenue, Baden, PA 15005.
