Born on September 22, 1934, in Dilliner, PA, she was the daughter of the late Orville S. and Myrtle M. (McMannes) Morris.

Betty spent her life as a homemaker, where she cared for and nurtured her family.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Betty was a member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eastern Star.  In her free time, she enjoyed spending precious moments with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking, baking, canning, gardening, and visiting with people in nursing homes to offer them encouragement for whatever they were facing.  Her voice was a gift to many and could often be heard singing hymns and country music.

She is survived by her daughters, Sarah Dusenberry, M.D. and Deborah Lapinski; grandchildren, Heather Chisholm, Leanne Santavicca, and Joseph Santavicca; great-grandchildren, Lily, Molly, and William; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

  1. Many years ago I was Betty’s teacher when she took a night class at Community College. I remember her as a lovely, intelligent fine lady. I knew this was her obituary as she proudly spoke of her daughter Sarah who was in medical school. RIP dear Betty

  2. I remember Aunt Betty (my aunt by marriage) as a warm, sweet woman who always had a smile. When I would hear her name over the years one of the first things that came to mind is that when she sent Christmas cards, she always wrote a little note and it always started with the salutation “Dear Ones” and that always touched me as so endearing.

My most sincere sympathy to her daughters who she loved so completely and all the family and friends who loved her and will miss her.

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Dusenberry, I know her daughter Sarah. I want to extend my condolences to her and the family. May God bless and comfort Sarah and all those who will miss her Mother and who love her.
