Obituary
Blanche V. (Salvano) Colosimo, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021 at the Masonic Village at Sewickley.
Blanche was born September 25, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret A. (Anderton) Salvano. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Philip J. Colosimo and her brother, Joseph Salvano.
She was a resident of Koppel for most of her life and was a 1952 graduate of Lincoln High School and a 1955 graduate of the Jameson School of Nursing. She then went on to work for Ellwood City Hospital as an RN and retired after 44 years of service. She was an excellent nurse and countless people have shared stories with her family regarding her compassion and mentorship over the years.
However, her true pride and joy were her children and grandchildren that she dedicated her entire life to. Her family will forever miss her sense of humor, quick wit, and contagious smile.
She is survived by her four children; Pamela (Frank) Miloszewski of Chippewa, Fred (Elizabeth) Colosimo of Beaver, Philip (Helen) Colosimo of Koppel, and Jim Colosimo of Sewickley; six grandchildren, Jennifer Graham, Gary Graham, Lauren (Steve) Rocco, Lynden (Nicholas) Celinscak, Kelsey (Mark Ahern) Colosimo, and Noelle (Shaun) Butler; one great-granddaughter and six great-grandsons.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Masonic Village at Sewickley, Dr. Barbara Levkoy, Dr. Chris O’Donnell, and Blanche’s special friend Holly “Crazy” Joy, for the excellent care they gave to Blanche during the last years of her life.
Additionally, Blanche’s older three children would like to give special thanks to their brother, Jim, for the years of loving care he devoted to their mother. Jim was not only her longtime caregiver, but her best friend.
Per Blanche’s request, her immediate family celebrated her life with a private service. Private interment took place at Grandview Cemetery.

Accept my deepest condolences in the loss of your dear mother Blance,
The ones weve lost are found in our memories.though words can do little to comfort you, may those memories bring peace in your hearts. Sharing the love of growing up among the many wonderful people in Koppel, was truly a blessing. I remember your grandmother well too, and I have fond memories of your mother both as a child then having interactions with her at Ellwood City Hospital once I finished my education and worked there, she was a wonderful compassionate nurse, respected by all. I was also fortunate to know the neighbor Blanche, a kind, generous person. Keep you parents memories as I do mine, As my Mother would say God Is Good, my mother admired your mother as well, we will miss them for as long as we live. (From former 6th. Ave neighbor).
