Obituary

Brian J. Hays, 63, formerly of South Park, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at his residence in Darlington.
Born on July 2, 1961, in Glassport, PA, he was the son of the late Burton C. and Mary E. (Hospodar) Hays. Brian was a proud graduate of Penn State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree, and an alumnus of Point Park University, where he completed his Master’s Degree.
Brian was a devoted and loving father, a cherished husband, and a loyal friend to all who knew him, including the lifelong friends he treasured since childhood. As the youngest of six children, Brian shared a special bond with his siblings, who were always there for one another through every stage of life. He had a love for traveling and cherished relaxing by the pool with his wife, Eileen, whose unwavering support throughout his battle with illness was nothing short of extraordinary. Together, they created countless memories filled with love, laughter, and resilience.
Brian had a deep passion for Penn State and was an avid fan of the Nittany Lions. Whether cheering on his team or simply sharing a smile, he brought joy and warmth to those around him. His legacy of kindness, love, and determination will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen S. (Taptich) Hays, whom he married on June 28, 2008. He is also survived by his children: Ashleigh E. (Nate) Nix, Brian (Tuesday) Hays, and Dale (Carrie) Moll; eight grandchildren: Logan, Gerrit, Aria, Harper, Nate, Jaxon, Nash, and Noah; siblings: Andrea (Joe Bernot) Vojtko, Doris (George) Protz, Eileen Hays, David (Debbie) Hays, and Timothy (Eileen) Hays; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by an infant brother, David.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 27th, from 11:00 AM until the time of a blessing service at 1:00 PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. – 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Twp.
Private interment will take place in Beaver Falls Cemetery.

  1. Had the wonderful opportunity to work with Brian at Graybar Electric for many years. He was a tremendous individual and as good as they get! My best to Eileen and Brian’s family. We are!

    I am so sorry to hear of Brian’s passing. I worked with him – same company, same job, different cities, for over 20 years. Brian was always willing to answer questions and pass on advice in different work situations. When myself and other coworkers talked to him he would always be excited to share updates about his kids and grandkids – he was so proud of all of you. He would share announcements of the newest grandchild with the whole group of accounting employees. He also had lots of stories to share about different trips he was taking. We will all miss him.Thinking of you and praying for all of you as you walk through the next few months.
