On Sunday, September 24, 2023, Bruce B. “The Plumber” McKee, 71, of Beaver Falls, made his last service call.
Bruce was born on August 26, 1952, in Darlington to the late Donald and Mary (Throckmorton) McKee.
Bruce was a graduate of Northwestern High School, where he was given the nickname “Red Head”. He furthered his education at Geneva College and Youngstown State University; later obtaining his HVAC Tech certificate from Gateway Technical Institute. Bruce had worked for the Local #833 as a laborer, a pipe fitter for Babcock & Wilcox Company, and later joined with Alan Fusetti to form Sunshine Heating & Plumbing. When the recession struck, the business changed to McKee Plumbing. Bruce ran the business for 3 generations of customers and was known for his quality, faithful service.
He was a member of the Beaver Falls Owls, where he was a former trustee and current bar-tender, the New Galilee LMBA Club, Beaver Falls Elks, Beaver Falls Turners, West Mayfield Vets, New Brighton Eagles, and the Fryburg Sportsman Club.
Bruce is survived by his daughter, Abby (Adam) Seymour; his grandchildren, Jayley, Caden, and Britlyn Seymour; a brother, Patrick Kim (Beverly) McKee; his nephews, Bryan and Shane McKee; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne McKee, and his long-time K-9 Companion who he missed dearly, Bo.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 28th from 2-4PM & 6-8PM at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp.
A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, September 29th at 10AM with Pastor Nick Giles officiating.
In accordance with Bruce’s wishes, he will be cremated following services.
