Carl W. 'Griff" Griffith, 87, of Vanport passed away Sunday June 26 in Heritage Valley Beaver. He was born July 20, 1934 in Burgettstown, PA and was the son of the late Carl and Anna Froats Griffith. Carl had been a longtime resident of Vanport, was a retired employee of J & L Steel Corporation, Aliquippa then drove truck for Pitt Express. Griff had been a member of the Vanport Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Arlene Holloway and a brother Larry Griffith. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth J. LeFebvre Griffith, sons, Doug (Peg) Griffith, Ken (Cindy) Griffith, Roger (Cyndie) Griffith and Ron Griffith, a daughter Karen Duffy and her partner Rick Vaughan, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brothers Colby Griffith and Dan (Sue) Griffith. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 6 in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver. The family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Vanport Volunteer Fire Department. There will be a dinner in the Vanport Volunteer Fire Department Hall following the visitation.
