Vanport

 

Carl W. ‘Griff” Griffith, 87, of Vanport passed away Sunday June 26 in Heritage Valley Beaver. He was born July 20, 1934 in Burgettstown, PA and was the son of the late Carl and Anna Froats Griffith. Carl had been a longtime resident of Vanport, was a retired employee of J & L Steel Corporation, Aliquippa then drove truck for Pitt Express. Griff had been a member of the Vanport Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Arlene Holloway and a brother Larry Griffith. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth J. LeFebvre Griffith, sons, Doug (Peg) Griffith, Ken (Cindy) Griffith, Roger (Cyndie) Griffith and Ron Griffith, a daughter Karen Duffy and her partner Rick Vaughan, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brothers Colby Griffith and Dan (Sue) Griffith. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 6 in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver. The family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Vanport Volunteer Fire Department. There will be a dinner in the Vanport Volunteer Fire Department Hall following the visitation.

    I am so Sorry for the passing of Carl. I have know Carl for over 50 years. I spent a lot of time at there house during my High School Years. I wish to send my Deepest Sympathy to his wife Betty and their Entire Family. Prayers thoughts.

  2. So sorry for the loss of Griff. He lived life to the fullest and will be missed by many. He could always make me laugh! He will live on in his Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Prayers and love to Betty and all of the Griffith family ️️

    To the family of Carl Griffith,On behalf of station 24 Vanport Township we would like to send our condolences and deepest sympathy. Griff was so loved by our department and members. He was such a huge part of our station and brotherhood. Griff could take a joke and give it back with the best of them. There truly was and will only be one Griff in our department. He will join all of our fellow brothers and sisters in heaven and believe me it will not be be quiet up there. So in ending god bless you Griff god bless Betty and your family. And thank you for your dedication service and friendship to our station. You are already missed more than anyone knows. Bingo help is definitely needed now. Love ya Griff.
