Obituary

Carl Wilson Dulaney, 84, of Darlington, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 in the comfort of his home with his family by his side. Born on August 2, 1938, in Freeport, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond “Guy” and Agnes Diana (Stoneking) Dulaney.

Carl was a Union Carpenter retiree where he achieved the Golden Hammer plaque for over 50 years of service for the Heavy Highway Local 2274 Carpenters Union.  Additionally, he worked ten years for the United Steelworkers of America Local 1212 until the plant closed.  His love for work blossomed into hobbies around his home, where he could be found building, welding, and working on his tractor.  Carl was proud of his large hammer and plant collections, was an avid auction-goer, loved horses and enjoyed being outdoors.  Most of all, Carl loved spending time with his beloved family and friends.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 57 years, Mary “Mitzi” Dulaney; his daughters, Mitzi (Larry) Merriman and Charmaine (Rich) Santarelli; his grandchildren, Leslie (Ryan) Lara, Larry Michael Merriman, Vanessa (Dylan) Aleksiejczyk, Richie (Drew) Santarelli, Dominic Santarelli, and Niko Santarelli; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Khloe, Tres, Coraline, and Jax; his siblings, Opal, Melvin, Sam, Leonard “Duck” (Patti), and Kenny; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his siblings, Howard “Buster”, James, Ronald, Glenn “Pumpkin”, Raymond, Fred, Ellen “Peg” Plut, Elizabeth “Lib” Prevost, Hazel Clutter, and Wilma Lee.

In accordance with Carl’s wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be planned for the summer months.
