Obituary

Christine C. (Belkowski) Pyecha, 72, of Monaca, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 in the comfort of her home.

Born on July 21, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lucille (Walerski) Belkowski.

Chris was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and had a very successful career in the restaurant business, retiring as regional manager.  She was a member of the Monaca American Legion, Erie American Legion, New Brighton Eagles Club, New Brighton Croatian club, a life member of the Polish Falcons, and the Monaca Turners Club.

In addition to her step-mother, Mary Belkowski, Christine is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Steven Pyecha; her children, David (Kalyn) Menges, Frank Menges, and Brian Menges; brothers, Clifford Belkowski and Stanley (Judy) Belkowski, Jr.; her sister, Janet (Jim) MacCrindle; grandchildren, Cody, Casey, Allison, Ashley, Sean, Dylan, Stacy, Penelope, and Landon; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Greyson, and Brayden; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Belkowski.

“Chris was my wife, best friend, and love of my life.  We were blessed to have a truly wonderful family and the best friends anyone could ever hope for.  Chris had a zest and love for life like no one I ever met.  Foremost, she cherished our family and our friends.  Chris was truly an expert at making new friends and I never saw her give up on making a friend, even out of the grouchiest persons you could imagine.  She was the most giving person I have ever seen, she has literally given the shirt off her back on many occasions.  Chris relished entertaining and loved nothing more than taking care of our family and friends.  Chris was a true animal lover and has been rescuing furry friends since she was a little girl, I am sure she is now reunited with our two labs, Kady and Abby, as well as a whole bunch of her four-legged friends.  She leaves behind her dear K-9 daughter Happy.  Chris’s passing leaves a hole in my heart that I never thought could heal.  Thankfully, through the love of our family and friends, that hole is already starting to shrink a little bit.  Please understand, and you will, if you knew Chris, that she would not want a weeping type of service.  Of course, tears will be shed, but her wishes are for a celebration of life.  She wishes that we all gather together to console each other and trade happy stories about our experiences with her.  We would like to thank the AHN Palliative Care and Hospice Network for their expert care.  We would like to thank everyone for their love and concern.  Chris and I would like to send our deepest love to our special Earth Angels who supported us through this devastating experience; our three sons and their families, her sister Janet MacCrindle, dear friends and neighbors, Chris and Brenda Kloos, special friend, Jill Hiltz, new friend and nurse, Kathleen Daniels…..Thank you all…. – Steve”

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-7PM at the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton for a memorial visitation and celebration of life.

The Beaver County Special Unit will accord military honors at 4PM.
