Obituary

Claire May Sallade Boden went to be with the Lord June 20, 2013. She was born June 3, 1937, in Beaver, PA, a daughter of the late Louis H. and Ethel Louise Clinton Sallade. Her husband, Stanley D. Boden, preceded her in death March 31, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L. Boden, and an infant daughter, Stephanie Katherine Boden; a sister, Donna L. Sallade Bogolea and a brother, Louis “”Butch”” Sallade.

Claire was a member of Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Washington, NC. She graduated from Beaver High School and worked for over 30 years at Sears in Center Twp., and then in Pittsburgh. She raised her children through times of trial and joy, teaching them the love of Christ, humor and song. Her love for her children was never partial and always abundant. She had a fantastic work ethic that she passed to her heirs. Always busy with some project for family or friend, Claire took pride in her home, which was beautiful and inviting to all who knew and loved her. Claire loved to read and donated faithfully to the Rochester Public Library, one of her personal favorite charities. She also lent her talents to many social and community events. For years she worked together with her late husband, Stan, to found the Broad Creek Emergency Medical Service. Their legacy, the project was very dear to their hearts and a benefit and blessing to their community.

She was the beloved mother of Deborah (Rick) Pentz, Beaver; Lynne (Paul) Turnbull, Chippewa; Susan (Scott) Zeimetz, Carolina Shores, NC; and Robert (Denise) Boden, Paris, KY. Also surviving are step-children Sandy (Ted) Johnson, Hookstown; Scott Boden, Beaver and Shari (Eric) LeGoullon, Morganton, NC; two sisters and a brother, Marie Bogovich, Ruth Brimmeier and Richard Sallade, all of Beaver; and a beloved sister-in-law, Jan Bodnar, of Gastonia, NC; twelve grandchildren, Nicholas, Hillary, Shane, Rory, Benjamin, Jesse, Tyler, Jenna, Cole, Courtney, Whitney, Madison, Shannon, Timothy, Amber and Ryan; and seven great-grandchildren, Alayna, Evan, Emmalyn, Nathan, Steven, Grady and Callie.

Friends were received Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at TODD FUNERAL HOME, 340 Third Street, Beaver, PA. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial was conducted Friday at 10:00 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Beaver.
