Obituary

Dale W. McCartney, 72, of New Brighton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday May 8. He was born June 19, 1940 in Monaca and was the son of the late Russell and Frances Morrow McCartney.

Dale had been a resident of New Brighton for the past 47 years, was employed as a truck driver for Pappas Trucking Co., was a lifetime member of the Daugherty Township Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Beaver County Relief Association, a former member of the Beaver County Fire Chief’s Association and had served in the Army Reserves.

He is survived by his wife S. Margaret ‘Peggy’ McCartney, 2 sons, Mark (Pamela) McCartney, Scot (Cherish) McCartney, 2 daughters, Jodi (Jarrod) Druschel and Beth Donaldson, a son-in-law Rusty Donaldson, 10 grandchildren, Michael (Lindsy) Chufe, Landon (Ashley) Donaldson, Aaron Chufe, Meghan Wilson, Levi Donaldson, Joshua Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Sarabeth Donaldson, Leah McCartney and Tyler McCartney, 3 great-grandchildren, Vicente, Brett and Paxton, a sister, Mary Frances (Fred) Cornell, his mother-in-law, Genevieve Aten,2 brothers-in-law, John Cunningham and Jim (Lois) Cunningham, a sister-in-law, Jean (Herb) Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and Henry Phillips, his father-in-law, John Cunningham, a step-father-in-law, Edward Aten and a sister-in-law, Barbara Cunningham.

Friends were received Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver where a funeral service was conducted Monday at 10 AM by Reverend Donald W. MacNeil of the Church of the Nazarene, Daughterty Township. Interment followed in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
