Obituary

David J. Matteo, 73, of Industry PA, lost his battle with blood cancer on July 10, 2026, with his fiancé, Patricia Walters and best friend, Jack Hohenshel by his side.

Born in Rochester on December 24, 1952, he was the son of the late Augustine and Marie (Nola) Matteo.

David found happiness in the simple things in life after retiring from Achieva. He liked to bake, golf with his friends, spend time with Trish whether it was at home, shopping, or taking trips to Ocean City and Harrisburg, he loved playing outside with Avett and Wyatt, whom he considered his grandchildren, riding quads and tractor around the yard. Most of all he loved to talk, whether it was with his fiancé or any of his friends and family, we all know he could talk for hours. He truly was a simple man that loved life.

He leaves behind is fiancé, Patricia Walters; and beloved friends Jack (Crystal) Hohenshel and Kyle Germany; sisters Carol (David) Ranck, Marie (David) Packan; nephews Justin Packan and his children and Michael Ranck; friends Megan and Paul Schaub and their children, as well as many great friends that will truly miss him.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Augustine (Auggie) and Marie Matteo; his long-time golfing buddies, Martin Schulte and Phil Tridico, and good friend Rege Short.

David will be missed every day and loved always.

A very special Thank You to ALL the wonderful nurses on the 7th and 8th floors at West Penn Hospital, they truly were our Angels in his time of need.
