Obituary

David Ray Murphy, 54, of Patterson Township, passed away at home on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Born on July 30, 1971, in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Helen Palmer and Father Ronald Murphy.

David was a free spirit with a deep love for adventure and the outdoors. He had a passion for dirt bikes and BMX riding. He cherished the time he spent living in Los Angeles, embracing the vibrant energy of the city he loved. One of his favorite pastimes was hiking near the iconic Hollywood Sign, where he enjoyed taking in the breathtaking views and reflecting on life.

Above all, David loved traveling with his beloved wife, Sara, creating memories together wherever the road would lead. His adventurous heart was matched only by the love he had for his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sara (Selner) Murphy; his cherished daughter, Holly; and, with great joy and anticipation, another child expected in May. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald Murphy Jr; his sister-in-law Dani; his brother-in-law, Ben; and his 10 nieces and nephews.

In accordance with David’s wishes, cremation will take place.

David will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of life, and the deep devotion he held for his family.

The GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Township, 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 was honored to care for the Murphy family during this time.

Not only was Dave a great friend, he was an amazing family man. He was a child at heart with a laugh that was addicting. He found his perfect soulmate who completed him, and was a proud father to his beautiful little girl. His second child due soon will know all about his Dad on how he had a very special way to make everyone smile! Love you my brother!
