Obituary
Donald Karl Mattern, 59, of Darlington Township, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at his residence.
Born on December 14, 1961 in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Naomi Mattern. Don was an avid classic car collector and could often be found in his garage restoring cars. He enjoyed ATV riding with family and friends and listening to ZZ Top. He was a Capital Project Manager for NOVA Chemicals for many years before retiring. Don‘s son was the light of his life.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Marian C. (Kramer) Mattern; son, Dylan William Mattern; brother, Dennis (the late Carol) Mattern; sister, Linda (Donald) McCuean; mother-in-law, Mary Kramer; sister-in-law, Sarah (Joe) Frioni; brother-in-law, John (Stephanie) Kramer; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nephews.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC.- 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Township, www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com. A funeral service will be held the follow day, Thursday, at noon in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Moreland officiating.
Interment will take place in Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery in Darlington Township.
