Obituary

Donald L. Eiler, 78, of White Twp., passed away Monday, May 23, 2016, at his residence.Born June 11, 1937, in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Clyde and Gladys Baker Eiler. He was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School class of 1955 and Geneva College class of 1974 where he received a bachelor’s degree. He was a veteran of the United States Army, 11th Airborne Division. Don retired as Chief from the Beaver Falls Police Department then went on to serve as the Magisterial District Judge for Beaver Falls area, then Senior Judge. He also served as Chief of Police for West Mayfield. He was a member of Beaver Valley Police Revolver League, Chiefs of Police Association, Fraternal Order of Police, Special Court Judges Association of PA, and was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Janet McCoy Eiler; a very special granddaughter whom resided with him, Shandi Beth Ward; children, Dawn (Patrick) Murphy, New Brighton; Nancy (Steve) Javonovich, High Point, NC; Roxane (Ken) Crosby, North Apollo; William Ward (Kim Lang), Rochester; Kimberly (Chris) DeDominicis, New Brighton, and Debra Ward (Ron Griffith), Hendersonville, NC; sister, Jeanne (Charles) See, East Palestine, OH; brother-in-law, Paul Farkas, West Mayfield; grandchildren, Kelly (Pete) Hooper, Julie (Michael) Weimer, Matthew (Holly) Murphy and Megan Javonovich, and ten step-grandchildren, Brian, Michael and Annie Crosby; Anthony and Lexi DeDominicis; Troy, Tiffany, Chad and Trey Pieprzyk, and Maxwell Howell; two great-grandsons, Connor Weimer and Gregory Hooper; five step-great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Alice Eiler; a son, Joseph Eiler; two brothers, Clyde and William Eiler, and three sisters, Evelyn Kellner, Esther Guthrie and Hazel Farkas.His wife would like to express sincere thanks to Tina Cleckley, Don’s home health aide, who brightened his days.Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 p.m. until time of service at 8 p.m. officiated by Judge William R Livingston II, in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1117 Fifth Ave., Beaver Falls, www.gabauerluttonfuneralhome.com. Private interment will be at Sylvania Hills.Members of the Veteran Honors Guard will meet at the funeral home Thursday at 3:50 p.m. to provide full military honors.
