Eleanor J. Garrett, 89, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, formerly of Beaver, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2022 at The Gardens Court, Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Born on February 15, 1933, in Beaver, PA, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Lavina V. (Leiper) Scheel.

Eleanor was a graduate of Beaver High School, class of 1951.  She served briefly as a bank teller prior to her marriage.  Following her marriage, Eleanor spent her life as a homemaker and raising her family.  She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, North Palm Beach, FL, and had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  In her free time, she enjoyed bingo and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Austin B. Barnes, Jr., and her second husband, Robert K. Garrett; her brothers, Earl J. and Robert C. Scheel (Mary Agnes); and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann (Harry) Scheel-Carichner.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Austin B. (Janice) Barnes III, Beverly G. (Gail Robbins) Barnes, and Norine K. Barnes; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Blessing Service and Committal Prayers will be held on Saturday, January 14th at 11AM at Slippery Rock Cemetery Mausoleum, Ellwood City.
