Obituary

Ella V. Perkins, 92, of Rochester, died quietly at home Thursday, March 7. She was born July 10, 1920 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh to the late Frank and Isabel Wakefield. Ella had one brother, Earl, who gave his life in World War II in Germany.

She graduated from Ambridge High School in 1937 and married Paul T. Perkins in 1940, and who died in January 1986. During the war she was employed at American Bridge Shipyards in the blueprint department.

Surviving her are two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula R. and Donald G. Nelson, Beaver and Sally P. and Gregory Shipley, Sewickley. Mrs. Perkins, a member of First Presbyterian Church, Beaver, was a long-time member of Concerned Women for America and the Presbyterian Women’s Association, where she served as Treasurer for many years.

Friends were received Sunday 2 to 5 PM in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver where a funeral service was conducted Monday at 1 PM by her minister Reverend Jeffrey Arnold. Entombment followed in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
