Obituary
Ernestine (Bunner) Jennings, 88, formerly of Gainesville, FL and Chippewa Twp., PA passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at UPMC Passavant, Pittsburgh. Born on February 6, 1933 in Catawba, WV, she was the daughter of the late Randolph R. and Gladene M. (Kincaid) Bunner.
Ernestine was a nurse for many years, having worked for numerous care centers. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and playing games with her family. Her favorite activities were golfing and bowling, but most of all, she loved to WIN!
In addition to her parents, Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband, Martin “Bud” Jennings; two infant children, John Paul and Joyce Ann; her brother, Gerald Bunner; and her sisters, Lois Hawley, Sara Adams, and Carol Smith.
She is survived by her loving children; Debra (Jack) Downs, Shelly (Pat) Fitzgerald, and Martin R. “Randy” (fiancée Heidi) Jennings; her grandchildren, John L. (Jenny) Fitzgerald, Bryan A. (Ashley) Downs, Michael P. (Emily) Fitzgerald, Martin Tyler Jennings, and Jonathan A. Downs; two great-grandchildren, Dominick Greenwalt and Nicholas Downs; her sister, Judith R. (Ron) Williams; her sisters-in-law, Betty Porto, Delores Barber, and Linda Hartsfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4PM and 6 to 8PM at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp., www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 10:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ernestine’s name to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Heaven has received another angel and we have lost her presence here for awhile but one day we will all be together again.
I truly loved her as my sister. She was a blessing in my life.

Aunt Ern came to game night in WV a couple of times. She was very competitive and didn’t like that you didn’t get a prize when you won. So when she came we had to have prizes. I will forever miss my golf, cards, player. I knew I could always count on Aunt Ern for a good game of “golf” cards. “Play your cards this way”
