Obituary

Eugene Leroy Cox, Jr., 73, of Meadville, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 in Baldwin Health Center of Pittsburgh.

Born October 1, 1947, in Beaver Falls, PA, he was the son of the late Eugene and Mildred Cox. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 33 years, on March 28, 2007, Rosann Mary Cox (Aquino.) They were members of St. Brigid's Church in Meadville, PA, where he lived until 2018. 

He graduated from Pennsylvania State University and was employed by Seco/Warwick Corp. in Meadville, PA as a draftsman and retired after working for over 40 years. He was a PIAA baseball-softball umpire and coached little league baseball. He enjoyed playing poker, golf, skiing, and riding his motorcycle and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.

Eugene is survived by a son, Christopher Cox, 38, of Pittsburgh; brothers, Robert, David and John Cox, of Beaver Falls; sister, Mary Summers, of Beaver Falls and several nieces and nephews. He was an extraordinarily kind, understanding, loving, and dedicated husband and father. 

There will be no public visitation. Friends and family are invited to attend Eugene’s mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, December 23rd at 1:00 pm at St. Monica’s Catholic Church- 116 Thorndale Dr., Beaver Falls PA 15010.  Fr. John Naugle will officiate.  In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks must be worn in the church.

Private interment will take place in St. Brigid’s Cemetery in Meadville.
