Obituary

Gale Raymond Shotsinger, 79, of New Brighton, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in the comfort of his home and is now in the presence of the Lord.  Born on April 11, 1942 to the late Louis and Mary Louise Shotsinger.

Gale was a life-long karate enthusiast.  He was the first student of Willie Wetzel and later taught classes for him.  In later years, Gale opened his own school.  He was well respected in his field with students traveling great distances for instruction and on occasion being consulted for movie productions.

He is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Joanne Shotsinger; daughters, Barbara Huddy, Renee, and Melanie; son, Joseph Huddy; grandchildren, Raymond, Joshua, and Lauren; and great-granddaughter, Madison.

    Gale was my teacher and friend. I trained at his school for 12 years. There was no one like him, he had no peers gales fighting arts that he taught at his school were supreme. I’m so lucky to have been his student. I will miss him.
