Obituary

Gary R. Barley, 89, of Beaver, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Rochester Manor.

Born on January 20, 1934, in Roaring Springs, PA, he was the son of the late Russell and Mary Katherine (Over) Barley.

Gary was a printer for the Beaver County Times for over 45 years.  He was an avid golfer and bowler, having thrown many 300 games.  Gary was a proud member of the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department for over 35 years and was Lutheran by faith.

Surviving Gary are his children, JoAnn Barley-Hages and Ralph (Donna) Barley; his three granddaughters, Tera Hages-Mayhue, Shelly Hages-Martin, and Erica Hages-DeFloria; 9 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Gay Lindsay, John (Marge) Barley, and Howard Barley; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In accordance with Gary’s wishes, he will be cremated and no services are being planned at this time.

Memorial contributions in Gary’s honor may be directed to the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department.

The GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES (Branch), 340 Third Street, Beaver, is honored to be assisting Gary’s family during this time.

    I am so sorry to hear about Gary’s passing. I knew him through the fire department (including the fire at his home) and from bowling. Although I was never as proficient at bowling as him. I liked his quiet demeanor. I am sure you will all miss him.
