Obituary

George A. Hammer, 95, of Brighton Twp., passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in Providence Care Center.

Born December 22, 1928, in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Louis “Pete” and Agnes (Windram) Hammer.  A graduate of the Beaver Falls Class of 1947, he then went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean Confict. George was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal as well as the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member of the New Brighton American Legion, the Beaver Falls Owls Club.  He retired from Westinghouse after 25 years of service.  He was a member of St.  St. Monica’s Church of St. Augustine Parish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy (DeBona) Hammer; and his sister, Margaret Manuel.

He is survived by 3 children, Barbara (Jeff) Carpenter, Mark (Lori) Hammer and Marianne (Rick) Beyerle; 7 grandchildren, Jake Carpenter, Josh Carpenter, Michelle (Fiancé Brian Householder) Hammer, Jessica (Drazen) Rakic, Mike (Casey) Beyerle, Matt (Tiffany) Beyerle, and Greg (Lindsay) Beyerle; and 7 great-grandchildren, Christian, Anthony, Sophia, Jaxon, DJ, Mia and Brayden.

Friends and family are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial to be held on Friday, December 6th at 10am at St. Monica’s Church of St. Augustine Parish- 116 Thorndale Dr. Beaver Falls PA 15010.

Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, where the Beaver County Special Unit will provide full military honors.
