George P. Harris

George P. Harris, 78, of Brighton Twp., died Monday, December 2, 2019, at Heritage Valley, Beaver. Born August 20, 1941, he was the son of the late Paul and Laura Farance Harris. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William Harris and sister, Rebecca Sherry. He retired from Zinc Corp. in 2013 as a Shift Foreman. George was a Vietnam U.S. Air Force veteran, member of the New Brighton American Legion Post #19, past Grand Knight and District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus Council 4940 and held many offices. As a member of his church, he was the coordinator for the ushers and was awarded the Fr. Marcus O’Brian Service Award in 2017. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Spratt Harris; sons, Scott, Craig, John and Jeff (Patricia) Harris; daughter, Laura Harris; granddaughters, Toni and Elaina Harris; and two great-grandsons. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the TODD FUNERAL HOME, 340 Third St., Beaver. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Beaver. Fr. Bob Miller will officiate. The Beaver County Special Unit will conduct full military honors at 11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held on Monday at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
